Answers to the questions people ask most. Can't find yours? Email us at hello@usebreatheasy.com.
If you're in crisis
Breatheasy is not an emergency service, and we don't monitor what you write. If you are in danger, thinking about harming yourself, or someone else is at risk, call your local emergency number now. In the US, you can call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. More crisis numbers are in the app under Settings → Crisis help.
Contact us
Email hello@usebreatheasy.com. It helps if you tell us:
- the email address you signed up with
- your phone model
- what you were doing and what happened
We will never ask for your password.
Getting started
Do I need an account to use the panic button?
No. Tap I need help now on the welcome screen to start the panic button straight away. An account lets you save check-ins, your journal and your progress.
Can I choose who Breatheasy contacts when I'm struggling?
Yes. Add your person under Settings → Your person. You'll get one-tap Call and Text buttons for them. Breatheasy never contacts anyone for you.
Your account
I forgot my password
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password?. We'll email you a 6-digit code. Enter it and choose a new password. If the email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and everything saved with it: your check-ins, panic attack history and quiz answers. Your chat with Luma, lesson progress and your person are removed from your phone too. This can't be undone.
Deleting your account does not cancel a Premium subscription. Cancel it first (see below).
Premium and subscriptions
What's free?
The panic button, breathing and crisis help are always free. When you create an account, you get everything free for 3 days, with no card needed. After that, Premium unlocks chats with Luma, every lesson, insights into your patterns, and all sleep sounds and stories.
How do I cancel?
Apple handles subscriptions. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions → Breatheasy → Cancel Subscription. You can also get there from Settings → Manage subscription in Breatheasy. Cancel at least 24 hours before your plan renews. You keep Premium until the end of the time you've paid for.
Can I get a refund?
Apple takes payments for Breatheasy, so refunds go through Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
I bought Premium but the app doesn't show it
Make sure you're signed in to the same Breatheasy account and the same Apple ID you paid with. Then open Premium in Breatheasy and tap Restore purchases.
Using Breatheasy
I can't feel the breathing vibrations
- In Breatheasy, check that vibration is on under Settings → Voice and vibration.
- On your iPhone, open Settings → Sounds & Haptics and check that System Haptics is on.
- Turn off Low Power Mode. iPhones pause vibrations while it's on.
My daily reminder doesn't show up
Check that it's on under Settings → Daily check-in reminder in Breatheasy. Then on your iPhone, open Settings → Notifications → Breatheasy and turn on Allow Notifications.
Is Luma a real person?
No. Luma is an AI, not a person or a therapist. Luma's replies are generated automatically and can be wrong. Luma can't call for help or tell anyone how you're doing. You can delete your chat at any time under Settings → Delete chat history, and you choose whether Luma sees your check-ins under Settings → Luma.
